Switching to BoxBoard
Import your gym's data with a spreadsheet
Updated
The most universal way to bring your gym's data into BoxBoard is by uploading spreadsheets (CSV) — it works no matter what platform you're coming from, and you review everything before anything is created.
What you can import
- Members — names + emails
- Workouts / programming — your named workouts
- Scores / PRs — your athletes' results, linked to the right person and workout
How it works
- From your gym, open Switch to BoxBoard in the menu and choose Upload spreadsheets.
- Upload a CSV for each type and tell us which is which — common column names are detected automatically.
- Review the Preview (the important step, below).
- Confirm — and only then is anything created.
The Preview — nothing is created until you confirm
Before importing, you see exactly what will happen for every row:
- New — will be created.
- Matched to an existing record — we found the same member (by email) or workout already in your gym, so it's updated, not duplicated. No double members.
- Needs attention — a score whose athlete or workout we couldn't confidently match is held back, so a score never lands on the wrong person. You can map an unmatched workout name to the right BoxBoard workout right on the preview, then re-check.
- Invalid — rows with problems (like a bad email), listed with the reason.
Tips for a clean import
- Include an email for every member — it's how we match people and link their scores.
- Keep workout names consistent so scores link correctly (map any that don't on the preview).
- Import members first if uploading files separately, so scores have people to attach to.
